Course Tour: Front 9

PAR 4

1

440 YDS

One of the toughest opening holes you’ll play. The sloping fairway favours a tee shot down the left to allow the ball to be fed back to the middle. The green presents trouble on both sides.

PAR 4

2

368 YDS

Be sure to favour your tee shot to the left side of the fairway to allow the ball to work back to the right. Your approach to a small green must not miss right. Club selection is of high importance here.

PAR 3

3

150 YDS

What looks like a straight forward hole can present many problems if you don’t be smart with your club selection. Be sure to check the wind here, any shot short will leave a tricky pitch uphill to the green.

PAR 4

4

304 YDS

A short par 4 which presents a great look at birdie. Long hitters can take the green on but be careful, this green slopes more than you may think and caution is needed on your putt.

PAR 5

5

476 YDS

A great downhill par 5 which longer hitters can easily reach in 2. However players must beware the water-filled brook at the bottom of the hill when laing up or going for it. A tricky 2-tier green awaits

PAR 5

6

496 YDS

A long uphill par 5 which requires a strong tee shot to put you in position. Be careful of the fairway bunker on the right for your second. Long hitters may each this green with a prevailing wind.

PAR 4

7

394 YDS

Another downhill hole with a slight dog-leg left which requires an accurate tee-shot if you’re to find the fairway. Take one club less into this downhill green and watch out of the deceptive slope.

PAR 3

8

187 YDS

A strong but very long par 3 in which members are always happy with a par. Be careful of the wind here which can appear to have disappeared when standing on the tee but is still there.

PAR 4

9

308 YDS

A short uphill par 4 to a tricky green with a lot of slope. A tee shot favouring the right half of the fairway will be the safest option for the second shot but players should be careful of OOB behind the green.

The Back 9

PAR 3

10

161 YDS

A great two-tier par 3 that is played back in front of the clubhouse. If the pin as at the bottom tier then go for it. If it’s at the top the percentage play is to play for the bottom and put up. Par here is good.

PAR 5

11

499 YDS

A stunning par 5 which is slightly downhill with a gentle dog-leg left. A long but accurate drive will reward players with a great chance to get on in 2 shots, but a miss could spell trouble.

PAR 4

12

266 YDS

A short par 4 in which strategy from the tee prevails. The percentage play is to lay up with a long iron to leave a simple pitch to the green. if you are feeling confident pulling out a wood will give you a great birdie look.

PAR 5

13

550 YDS

A long par 5 which requires 3 good shots to reach for all but the longest hitters. Leave your second at the top of the hill to leave a short iron into a picturesque green surrounded by mounds of grass.

PAR 4

14

404 YDS

A dog-keg left par 4 in which your second shot requires accuracy to a narrow green guarded by bunkers. If ground conditions are firm be sure to take a club less and land your approach short.

PAR 3

15

137 YDS

A short par 3 which plays pretty much as you see it. Check the wind before selecting aclub and be careful of the bunker looming left of the green. Hit the green off the tee and you’ll have a great look at birdie.

PAR 4

16

357 YDS

Playing back over the 15th green, this tee shot favours the left side of the fairway to take out the fairway bunkers. The green is protected by some subtle drop offs. Playing for the middle is sensible here.

PAR 4

17

438 YDS

A generous fairway will await but don’t be fooled, this is one of the hardest holes on the course and the green is surrounded with danger. The smart play for the average golfer is to lay up and get up & down.

PAR 4

18

349 YDS

A lovely elevated finishing hole. The temptation will be to pull out the driver, but the smart play here is to lay up to the top of the hill to leave a simple iron shot into the tricky two-tiered green.
