Wedding FAQs
COTSWOLDS WEDDING VENUE
Below are some of the most frequently asked questions leading up to your big day. If you have any specific questions please reach out directly.
Ballroom
Can we set up the ballroom the day before?
We have many weddings taking place in the ballroom and so you will be allowed access to set up at 9am the day of the wedding. We can confirm if you will be able to set up the night before 1 week prior to the wedding if there are no events taking place.
How many guests can we seat per table?
We suggest 8 is the most comfortable number. With a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10.
Can we put decorations on the ceiling drapes in the ballroom?
No, decorations are not permitted on the ceiling drapes in the ballroom. This is to ensure the safety of all guests and to maintain the condition of the venue.
What is the maximum capacity?
Our maximum number of guests is 450.
Can we store decorations at the hotel the night before?
Unfortunately, due to insurance purposes we cannot hold any items for you the day before the event, these will have to arrive on the day.
Facilities
Do you do outside ceremonies?
Yes, we can offer outdoor ceremonies, subject to guest numbers and a weather assessment conducted the day prior to the event. Our team will ensure suitable arrangements are made for a smooth experience.
Do you have parking on site?
Yes, we have up to 200 parking spaces free of charge.
Can you accommodate smaller weddings?
Yes, we can. We have our brand-new function room, Fairways, which would be perfect for these, plus our upstairs restaurant where the ceremony is able to take place. We can certainly build you a bespoke package for this also, depending on your requirements.
Do you supply master of ceremonies?
We do not provide a full Master of Ceremonies service. However, our team can assist with basic announcements throughout your event, such as welcoming guests or coordinating key moments.
Do you allow smoke grenades?
Unfortunately, we don’t, due to the nature of the golf course and the grass.
Do you allow fireworks?
Yes, we do. We have a specific area by the Ballroom area which they can be viewed from. We would need to know this three months prior to your wedding in order to make necessary arrangements. The fireworks company would need to be sourced externally as this is not something we provide.
The Hotel
Can we stay in the apartments?
Of course! To stay in one of our 2 or 4 bedroom apartments, there is a minimum of a 2 nights stay for your guests. We also offer a special upgrade option from the Bridal Suite for the happy couple.
We are getting married at 1.30pm, will our guests be able to check into their bedrooms before our ceremony?
Unfortunately not, check in is at 3pm but we do have a limited number of rooms that we can agree an early check in at the additional cost of £30, alternatively should it be essential that your guests can access the room prior to this, we suggest they book a room the night prior also.
Do we have access to the gym?
Yes, gym access is included for all guests.
Do we get discount on Green Fees?
Yes, we can offer discounted rates. Please enquire with the Pro Shop for further details.
Do you have disabled access?
Yes, there are lifts on site, plus a full accessible wet room if required.
Is there somewhere the bridal party can get ready on the day?
We do have additional rooms for hire (subject to availability). Another option would be to take advantage of our apartment upgrade and stay with us the night before.
Could there be more than one wedding or event on the same day?
Yes, there could be another wedding or event take place on the day, but you would have exclusive use of your function room along with bar access.
Food & Drink
Do you allow external catering?
Yes, we do. You can Dry Hire the venue with your own caterers, providing we receive their liability insurance and a copy of their PAT testing certificate.
Can we try the food beforehand?
Yes. We are able to offer Menu Tastings at an additional charge for our three-course wedding breakfast, which would need to be booked well in advance. Please note we do not currently offer tastings for our canapés, hog roast or BBQ options.
Do we have use of any kitchen appliances?
Due to health and safety you will not have access to any microwaves or fridges on site.
When does the bar close?
The bar opening hours will be from the end of the ceremony to midnight, however we can arrange for you to have a late bar at an additional charge.
